JOIN lace-maker and textile historian

Elena Kanagy-Loux for a lecture on the forgotten women makers behind one of the most expensive and valuable textiles in history: lace. Along with stories both breathtaking and heartbreaking, she will share a wide range of antique laces from her personal collection and demonstrate bobbin lace making. Participants are encouraged to wear your finest lace or bring your favorite doily to share!

don your best spring time regalia, inspired by your most treasured childhood fairy tales. Beatrix Potter's woodland animals, Leo and Dianne Dillon's fantastical dreamscapes, and Cicely Baker's flower faeries may come to mind.  Pastel clowns, playful frogs, talking flowers, and benevolent sorceresses are all welcome!

Feel free to also draw inspiration from children’s fairy tale books from around the world. With that in mind, please be conscious of respecting other peoples culture and heritage.
